Advanced Mobile Leak Detection
Discover AMLD is an advanced mobile leak survey system that simultaneously monitors methane and ethane using mid-infrared TDLAS across a vehicle-mounted open fixed optical path. It supports field evaluation with gas concentration, positioning, and wind data.
The ethane indication provides auxiliary data to distinguish natural gas pipeline methane from biogenic methane. Findings are evaluated in conjunction with field confirmation procedures.

GPS and anemometer assist in interpreting measurement data in conjunction with position and wind parameters.
Measurement tracking via wireless tablet; field record evaluation using software data management and reporting tools.
Front mounting and roof-rack compatibility must be checked against the vehicle make, model, and year. The same mounting hardware is not universally suitable for every vehicle; installation should be planned using the manufacturer's vehicle selection guide.

| Target compounds | Methane (CH₄) and ethane (C₂H₆) |
|---|---|
| Measurement principle | Mid-IR TDLAS with open-air fixed optical path |
| Indication | Resolution at ppb levels stated by manufacturer; detection limit and field performance are distinct concepts |
| Auxiliary components | GPS, anemometer, tablet, and software |
| Gas unit mounting | Front mount / base plate / grille mount options on compatible vehicles |
| Top mounting | Suitable roof-rack mount for GPS and anemometer |
| Configuration | Determined by vehicle model, survey mission, route characteristics, and data management requirements |
It can be deployed for mobile survey of natural gas distribution networks, emissions reduction programmes, and investigating super-emitter sources. Vehicle and system configurations are evaluated jointly for urban, rural, or off-road survey routes.

The system monitors methane and ethane simultaneously. Ethane data supports field discrimination between pipeline gas and biogenic methane sources.
Front mounting of the gas measurement unit and roof attachments for GPS and anemometer must be verified based on vehicle make, model, and year. Compatible hardware is identified via the manufacturer's guide.
