NOVEL - Mobile Detector Software (MDTVA)

Mobile Detector Data Acquisition and Analysis Software is a user-friendly application designed to record data during leak surveys on natural gas distribution networks, and subsequently analyse and report this data in a PC environment. By recording GPS coordinates alongside measurement data, the software provides a visual interface that enables values to be monitored simultaneously on both graphs and maps, in the field and at headquarters, during and after the survey. Furthermore, by interfacing with Geographic Information Systems via a WMS service, it maps all acquired data onto GIS layers. This allows survey operators to navigate pipeline routes on screen and easily manage inspection points. Analysis and reporting can likewise be carried out using GIS data. Through the software, the survey process can also be monitored over the internet from an external control centre. Archived records provide immediate access to required information and enable detailed report generation. For example, measurement values collected over the past five years for a given street are ready for analysis and reporting within seconds.
