Standards-Compliant Thermal Comfort Measurement - Additional Cold Measurement Function
HeatShield is a complete system compliant with international standards. Real-time ISO 7243-compliant WBGT measurement and ISO 7730*-compliant PMV/PPD measurement can be performed. It features probe design and performance compliant with ISO 7726. Compliant with Heat Index, Humidex, ISO 7933, and ISO 11079 calculation standards. In addition to warm environments, it can calculate cold environment thermal stress, as well as additional ISO indices for PHS, IREQ, and duration limits. All Calculations with Superior Software
With the HS Manager software supplied with the instrument (included), measurements are downloaded to PC, and limits/warnings and reports are generated. For advanced thermal environment analyses, data can be transferred to GIDAS TEA (optional) software; here, indices such as ISO 7730 (PMV/PPD), ISO 7933 (PHS), and ISO 11079 (IREQ/Dlim) can be analysed post-measurement.Capability to Operate Even in Harsh Field Conditions
In addition to its compact and portable design, HeatShield is a highly robust instrument and can be used in arduous working conditions both indoors and outdoors.Long Battery Operating Time
HeatShield can operate for up to 200 hours in standard WBGT measurement with its internal rechargeable Li-ion battery. The manufacturer's current product literature specifies up to 20 hours of operation with wireless satellite modules. Since the ESV126 air velocity probe draws external power, operating time is significantly reduced; field planning of approximately 8 hours should be considered a safe practical baseline.Wireless Operation Advantage
Models with integrated radio technology provide simultaneous monitoring at different locations or heights using up to 2 wireless satellite modules. Line-of-sight coverage of up to 300 m can be achieved in open areas (subject to indoor environmental conditions).
*According to the ISO 7730 standard, metabolic rate (met), clothing insulation factor (CLO), and mechanical efficiency (ETA) values must be entered separately for PMV-PPD calculation. This information can be entered directly on the instrument or edited post-measurement via optional advanced software.
