Occupational Safety and Environmental Measuring Instruments
Personal Noise Dosimeter, Environmental Sound-Noise Monitor, Workplace Noise Mapping
EDGE is a cable-free, lightweight, user-friendly personal noise dosimeter designed to measure personal noise exposure with high accuracy under varying environmental conditions. These advanced instruments compute all required dosimetric metrics throughout the run duration (Dose, SPL, Peak, Upper Limit (UL), TWA, Identity Field, SEL (Lep), Run Time, Threshold, Exposure, Lavg/Leq, Max, L(C-A), Projected Dose, Min).
With the Edge 4 Plus dosimeter, you can now control all your instruments via your mobile phone (Android or iOS).
Data can be viewed much faster on the large, colour OLED display.
Two independent dosimetric measurements can run simultaneously on the same instrument, enabling the same measurement to be reported against different standards.
Provides straightforward connectivity to mobile phones via Bluetooth.
Provides visual warnings via an onboard LED during dosimetric measurements.
Compact and lightweight, at just 85 grams
Provides 40+ hours of battery life on a single charge, allowing you to complete measurements over multiple days without needing a charger.
Features all essential capabilities expected of a professional noise dosimeter, including auto-stop/start functions, timer-scheduled auto-start options, and separate accounting for periods such as breaks and lunch intervals.

Measurement and Standards Approach
The Edge 4 Plus is a dosimetry platform used for monitoring personal noise exposure on the worker across a shift. Measurement criteria and reporting parameters must be configured according to the occupational hygiene methodology to be applied, corporate procedures, and applicable regulations; the pre- and post-measurement acoustic verification/calibration routine must also be maintained.
Standard compliance: In TSI's Edge 4 Plus technical documentation, it is stated that the instrument meets the requirements of ANSI S1.25 Personal Noise Dosimeters and IEC 61252 Personal Sound Exposure Meters. The Edge 4 Plus features two independent dosimeters; threshold can be configured as 70–90 dB or off, and exchange rate can be set to 3, 4, or 5 dB for each dosimeter. ISO 9612 is not an instrument certification, but a measurement strategy and calculation standard for determining occupational noise exposure of workers. Therefore, during field studies, an appropriate measurement strategy and pre-/post-measurement acoustic calibration procedure must be implemented alongside the instrument standard.
Frequently Asked Questions About TSI Quest Edge 4 Plus
Which noise dosimeter standards does the Edge 4 Plus meet?
TSI technical documents specify ANSI S1.25 Personal Noise Dosimeters and IEC 61252 Personal Sound Exposure Meters standards for the Edge 4 Plus.
Can the Edge 4 Plus measure simultaneously with different noise criteria?
Yes. Edge 4 Plus has two independent dosimeters. By configuring parameters such as threshold, exchange rate, and criterion level according to different criteria, the same run can be monitored using different evaluation approaches.
Can the Edge 4 Plus be used in ISO 9612 studies?
The Edge 4 Plus is a dosimeter intended for measuring personal noise exposure on workers on a shift- and task-based basis. ISO 9612 is not an instrument certification, but a measurement strategy and calculation standard; in practice, the relevant measurement plan and acoustic calibration procedure must be applied together.
How are Edge 4 Plus data reported?
Edge 4 Plus measurement data can be transferred to TSI Quest Detection Management Software (DMS) via EdgeDock; DMS provides data storage, graphing, analysis, and reporting functions.
